Another great podcast! Thank you for bringing the most recent research into focus, as well as some grounding in DM basics (much of which is still surrounded in controversy). I’m all for giving people info/perspective to educate in all aspects. I look forward to the update and what happens with connections with human ALS reseearchers.

Great podcast, nice to see some focus on hoarders. Just one POV on puppy mills – let’s not lump in viable reputable larger-scale commercial breeders with the puppy mill folk. They are different than the mills, they comply with USDA standards and inspections, and have people who genuinely care about the health and well-being of their dogs and cats.

Do I personally like the idea of large-scale commercial breeders? Not really, personally, I’d rather find a reputable small scale breeder. But as long as pet stores keep stocking puppies from them and people keep purchasing, the business will continue.

Thank you very much for focusing attention on this issue. I’m afraid there is still much controversy & hesitation surrounding the “test” for DM, and too much “knee-jerk” response as to how the results can/will/should be handled… At least now there is SOME info, which was not the case years ago when I lost my first Pem to DM.

Terrific show, Lisa! I learned alot from your guest and will try some of the weight reduction strategies she suggested for my fat cat. When you have 4 cats it’s hard to keep the one fatty out of everyone else’s food bowl. Yes, another Hoover like yours!
